Former JMF players join Tennant Creek coaching team

Recently we welcomed two new JMF Community Coaches to our Tennant Creek, NT hub. Ethan Holt and Waikean Kelly were previously John Moriarty Football participants from Tennant Creek High School taking part in the program since JMF started in area in 2019.

In early 2023 they both undertook work experience with JMF, working a few hours each week alongside their schooling commitments.

Ethan and Waikean showed great dedication, passion and leadership and have now secured formal positions as JMF Community Coaches and will assist with after school sessions and holiday clinics throughout the Barkly region.

In 2024, Waikean and Ethan will continue to work as JMF Community Coaches while completing their year 12 school leavers certificate and a Certificate 3 in Sport and Recreation through Charles Darwin University, facilitated through JMF.

Waikean and Ethan are fantastic role models for our young participants. They are a powerful example of the impact our program has in providing pathways and transforming the lives of Indigenous kids in remote and regional Australia.
