Indi Kindi adapts delivery to COVID-19 pandemic

In response to the current COVID-19 situation and in line with advice from the Australian Health Sector Emergency Response Plan for Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Management Plan for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Populations, our Indi Kindi program is adapting its model to deliver our early years program in an effective and culturally safe way relevant to the remote community of Borroloola.

Our unique outdoor teaching model, Walking Learning, which was co-designed with the community to meet the needs of the children and families and delivered by local women with 4-5 years tenure, means that our early years program is well suited to the key health advice to #keepourmobsafe and #stopthespread.

Indi Kindi is also being delivered out bush through our local educators.

This week Indi Kindi’s Cherianne Clarke had a great session on SouthWest Island. The children had great fun engaging their gross motor skills and balance in a skipping game and developing their maths skills while observing shapes during the Walking Learning activities.
