Indi Kindi presents at Early Childhood Australia National Conference
December 18, 2025
Congratulations Tennant Creek Indi Kindi Team Leader Keara Baker-Storey (Warumungu/Wambaya), Early Years Specialist/Indi Kindi Program Director Jessica Horne-Kennedy, and Indi Kindi Program Manager Alinta DeSatge (Waluwarra) who presented at the 2026 Early Childhood Australia national conference in Perth.
Aligning with the theme, ‘Universal not Uniform,’ the team showcased how Indi Kindi makes quality early education accessible to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in remote and regional Australia. They highlighted how the program’s best-practice framework, Walking Learning® prioritises culturally-rich and safe learning for Aboriginal children so they can thrive and reach their full potential.
Keara, Jess and Alinta provided a special interactive experience, inviting conference participants to sit on the Indi Kindi mat and participate in some Walking Learning®-inspired activities. Guests had the opportunity to create artworks using Marri nuts, gum leaves and sticks while learning about Indi Kindi’s multi-sensory model well suited to the cognitive strengths of young Indigenous learners.
Thank you Early Childhood Australia for the opportunity to share how Indi Kindi is helping to give young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children the best and brightest start in life.
