Kathryn (Kate) Gill is a highly skilled sports administrator who is passionate about empowering athletes and the development of women's sport.
Kate is a Fox US World Cup Commentator, and was formerly a Co-Chief Executive of Professional Footballers Australia (PFA), Global Board Member of FIFPRO, and Matildas Captain.
Kate's 15-year career as an Australian national team player and pioneering role in organising female athletes for the first time in Australian football has given her extensive experience working with international and national federations, sports governing bodies, leagues, clubs and community organisations to develop and implement strategies that promote the growth and development of sport and leverage its power as a force for good.
As the Co-Chief Executive of PFA, Kate was responsible for enhancing and protecting the labour, commercial and human rights of 800 elite male and female Australian footballers. She has a proven track record of improving wages, playing conditions and supporting the development of athlete pathways. in 2019 and 2023, Kate was one of two lead negotiators of what became a watershed international collective bargaining arrangement between the Australian men's (Socceroos) and women's (Matildas) teams and the Football Federation, with the 2019 deal making international news as the football world's first gender equal pay deal. Kate also played a key role in orchestrating a global campaign to equalise the prize money for the FIFA Women's World Cup.
Kate's wide ranging contribution to the game of football was acknowledged with her induction into the Australia Football Hall of Fame in 2022.
