ROLE: Board Director Opportunity | Finance & Accounting

Moriarty Foundation is seeking an experienced finance professional to join our Board of Directors and help guide our organisation’s financial strategy and governance.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia by leveraging your expertise to support our mission and support fiscal stewardship. The Foundation has strong financial executive capability and unqualified audits since inception.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in a senior financial role, with degree in accounting, finance or related field.
  • CPA, CA or equivalent professional qualification, ideally with previous board experience.
  • Understanding of not-for-profit financial regulations and best practice.
  • Strategic thinking with attention to financial controls and risk management.
  • Commitment to our mission and values.
  • An understanding of, or interest in, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and values.
  • Collaborative approach to board governance.

As our Finance & Accounting Board Director, you will:

  • Provide financial governance through oversight of financial reporting and budgeting processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Review audit and risk assurance and support the organisation to address any findings and recommendations.
  • Provide feedback on long-term financial planning, sustainability and alignment with strategic objectives.
