JMF supports players to compete in Darwin tournament

Congratulations to the Barkly SSENT U12 boys and girls football teams that competed at the School of Sport Education Northern Territory football competition in Darwin last week.
The teams were coached by JMF Community Coaches Tyreake Banjo and Dorean Grant.
Both teams received the Spirit Award, which is awarded to the team that plays in the best spirit throughout the championship. Read more > https://bit.ly/445qZyX

Congratulations also go to our JMF Borroloola & Robinson River select U12 Boys and U12 Girls that also competed at the tournament. The team demonstrated some excellent skills and team work throughout the week playing seven games in total across the competition.
A special mention to U12 girls Layasha, Courtese and Kyeesha who were selected to represent the School of Sport Education NT team at the next competition!
This trip was made possible through a collective effort of individuals, community organisations and relevant funding, a big thank you to the following:
JMF Coaching staff in safely chaperoning the students 971kms from Borroloola to Darwin and providing the coaching and mentoring each day.
Patsy Ann, teaching assistant from Robinson River School for kindly chaperoning the students and Teresa De Zylva, adding to our teaching staff to support the students across the week.
Roper Gulf Regional Council in supporting the funding required through its Community Grants program, as well as providing transport support to get to and from Katherine.
McArthur River Mine Community Benefits Trust for also supporting the funding required to provide competition opportunities to students from Borroloola and Robinson River.
Katherine YMCA for hosting our team overnight and supplying sleeping mats.
Robinson River School and Borroloola School for supporting the selection of students attending the trip, the students represented their schools and community with pride and passion.
